Are you trapped in an iron lung or something? Go for a walk. At least find a critic with similar tastes that you trust and cull the list.

Movies I'm Watching
by ILoveTTATT2 ini have, for about 6 months now, been trying to watch every single movie that was "cool" or interesting since 1960.it started out with a desire to watch as an adult all disney movies.
then it morphed into all bond movies (except for the non-canonicals).now it's turned into pretty much any and all movies.
here is my list, scratched out are ones i have seen, green are recent next-in line.turns out there was a lot i had never seen before, about 70% because of the cult restrictions!

Circuit Assemblies in the "Good Old Days"
by BluesBrother injust been reminiscing about how c/a's have changed since we were young.
i remember when they started friday night in some rented hall , as well as the two weekend days.
saturday morning was a brief session then field ministry (which only a few performed ) and sunday sessions.. in the free time around the venue we just used to hang out socialising and eyeing up the girls.

Paper hats, long aprons and washing large pots were the domain of the lucky kids in the district convention kitchen. There were long tables which attendees would stand at to have lunch. Those were seminal and fun days for a little cult member. Yes the conventions of the 60's were fun for only some kids. The books had more of an aura to them, the latest release was so anticipated. The convention was an event for fellow future survivors! Those kitchen and feeding jobs gave the less educated, and more practical men, who couldn't kiss ass to be an elder a purpose, a feeling of self worth and a value in the congregation. When they did away with that sense of community they doomed thosed people to drone status. Now the convention is about the speakers and their egos. So glad I endured only a few years of that slop.

Will Trump Be Helpful In Gaining A More Cooperative Relationship With Russia And The USA? Is That A Bad Thing?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm thinking if these nuclear powers work together for a common interest lots of progress will have been made.
a total end of the cold war with russia is a good thing for the world.
once you get the burden of war with each other off the table i think a lot of good can be accomplished in bumping heads in how solve common goals best..

It's not a bad thing for Tillerson, when the U.S. lifts the sanctions from Russia then Exxon can go through with their 500 billion oil deal. It's win win for big oil.
By the way, the reason Trump can't release his taxes is because Putin hasn't sent him his W2 yet.

I really hate the word "ones".
by schnell innecessary as it is at times, i hate this word.
for one thing, "ones" is a plural form of the number 1. that is dumb, and it's reason enough to avoid it where it isn't entirely necessary.. one could argue that it never is necessary, but it can still come up in colloquial dialogue when discussing objects.
jw leaders use it to discuss people.. interestingly, jws even did this to jesus christ in their own translation of the bible, referring to him in ephesians 1:7 with "through the blood of that one" where another translation would say something like "through his blood".

I despise when people say, "I'll have one of these ones." My reaction to the redundancy makes me a total snob but, so it goes.

Life is changing for me: no pioneering, got a job!
by Skepsis ina month ago i decided to register in this board.
i had decided to step down pioneering but was frightened about the consequences.
i had finished my university degree some months before (despite disaproval from brothers in my congregation) and i had to choose: continue pioneering and working in jobs with no future or starting a career, working full-time.. i was thinking to postpone the decisiton but... i was fed up with preaching.

Skepsis, the congregation has been teaching you that being an MS is a privilege and that you are "special", "important" and doing a "good work". They also tell you that saying "no" is disloyalty to God. That pressure is still squeezing your mind. Call BS on it, see it for what it is. You have an education now and can see the futility of little men pretending to be important. There is no future in it. Use your mind and act on what you know. If you delete yourself of all responsibilities in the Cong some other ignorant zealot will step in. Don't let them flatter you, janitors do that work. The pressure will pass when they see that you are unwilling. You have a brain in use now! Congrats on not wasting time or gas anymore.

Hey Smiddy, the love of the greater number is referring to believers. That's the official line ya know? The greater application is the convenient one of the world cooling off but its the BS explanation and not the official one.

Why do you have to be so critical of comrade Trump?

My Dad wants to study with me
by BlackWolf inso my parents continue to pester me about getting baptized.
the other day my dad told me that i was old enough to make a decision, and was wondering why i wasn't ready (assembly is in a few weeks) so i told him calmly that i have many doubts and if i were to get baptized it has to be 100 percent my idea.
he was a little annoyed by this, and now wants to study the "is there a creator that cares about you" book (which is complete bs) with me.

A little anger now is better than getting baptized and kicked out then listening to his pressure to return for ever! Just deal with it with honesty. -

Living Vicariously Through the Sheep.
by donny inwhen i got baptized as a jehovah’s witness in the summer of 83, my honeymoon period lasted about two years before i began to wonder if the society and its adherents were all it claimed to be.
no of the things i encountered for the first few years was really faith shattering, they simply just made me pause and think.
after a short while, i would file those issues in the back of my brain files and move forward.. .

1. It was a typical WT invasion of privacy to grill a person and make any record of it.
2. The elder was irresponsible to put those reports in your hands.
3. You had no right reading it.
Never once in a judicial hearing did we ever dig for that sort of detail and NEVER wrote anything like that. You got an a-1 pervert there chum.
